Questions such as, is it harmful, do I have to follow a special diet, or is it just a question of esthetics? Today we want to resolve these and many other doubts about this treatment to eliminate possible fears about orthodontics.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Is orthodontics only for adolescence? False<\/strong>. Although it is true that to correct problems of space in the oral cavity, it is recommended to start orthodontic treatment as soon as possible, since the mouth of the youngest members of the family is in full development and is easier to mold. Today, <strong>more than 25% of orthodontic patients are adults <\/strong>.  <\/li>\n<li>Many people believe that orthodontics is only used to correct esthetic problems, but this is not the case. The objective of the treatment is to align the teeth and normalize the size and position of the maxilla and mandible. In this way, <strong>efficient, healthy and beautiful teeth<\/strong> are achieved.<\/li>\n<li>Oral appliances do require <strong>special<\/strong> <strong>care<\/strong> when it comes to oral hygiene and cleaning, as more debris may remain between the teeth.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do eating habits have to be modified when wearing braces? There are no really forbidden foods for patients wearing braces, only extreme caution and care should be taken with hard foods that may break the brace.<\/li>\n<li>The effectiveness of the treatment will not be greater if the appliance is tightened more. Braces may cause some pain as the appliance is being adjusted, but this will pass with the passage of time.<\/li>\n<li>Many people believe that orthodontic treatment lasts for many years, but this is not always the case.
