Therefore, it is best to be informed about how to act when there is any trauma to the body, especially if it is dental.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Dental trauma is one of the most serious problems and one of the main reasons for attendance in dental clinics.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The COEM has reported that a total of 6.5 million Spaniards have suffered dental trauma at some point in their lives. But the worst thing is that in most cases they have not known how to act.<\/p>\n\n<p>According to the estimated prevalence in Europe, which stands at 14% of the population, the most affected groups are athletes and children, where it reaches 50%, closely followed by students.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Types of dental trauma:<\/h2>\n\n<p>-Lesions<strong>of hard tissues and pulp,<\/strong> without periodontal involvement (fracture of enamel, tooth crown).<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211;<strong>Injuries involving the periodontium<\/strong> (corono-radicular fracture, concussion, subluxation, luxation, <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Avulsi%C3%B3n\">avulsion<\/a> and root fractures).<\/p>\n\n<p>The prognosis of dental trauma depends largely on the actions taken at the site of the accident and immediately after the avulsion.<\/p>\n\n<p>Reimplantation is in most situations the treatment of choice, but it cannot always be performed immediately.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dental reimplantation: Factors to be taken into account<\/h2>\n\n<p><strong>-Time:<\/strong> period out of the mouth<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211;<strong>The means of preservation: <\/strong>condition of the <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Enfermedad_periodontal\">periodontal<\/a> ligament.<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211;<strong>The degree of root development:<\/strong> immature permanent teeth with short root and open apex; this is found in children or teeth with closed apex in adults.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The general recommendation is as follows: <\/strong>Remain calm and reimplant the tooth; look for it and pick it up by the crown (the white part) and avoid touching the root. If it is dirty, wash it briefly (4-5 seconds) with saline solution or water, but never soap or rub it. And put the tooth in place.<\/p>\n\n<p>The affected person should then bite down on a tissue or gauze to keep the tooth in its original position.
